INKARHO®
- Beautiful Rhododendrons for
Everyone:
You
may think that the soil in your garden is not suitable
for growing rhododendrons and you may well have poor
results growing them in patio pots. Well now after an
incredible breakthrough, INKARHO® rhododendrons are the
answer to your problems.
What
are INKARHO® rhododendrons?
How
it’s possible? – INKARHO® rhododendrons are a worldwide
phenomenon – they enable you to grow rhododendrons in
soils with a ph as high as 7. After twenty years of
research an 1.8 million seedlings later, the well known
and renowned horticultural research centre at Ahrensburg,
Germany has come up with a seedling that is lime - tolerant.
This
seedling has been re-produced using micro – propagation
and now millions of INKARHO® rootstocks are being grown
for nurseries all over the world. All the favourite
and reliable rhododendrons varieties are then skilfully
grafted onto the lime – tolerant rootstock, enabling
that particular variety to flourish in almost any soil.
Not only are they lime – tolerant, INKARHO® rhododendrons,
with their robust root system, are much more adaptable
in difficult soils, such as heavy clays or light sandy
soils.
Hidden
Qualities…
The
secret of INKARHO® rhododendrons lies underground: they
have an unusually strong, robust lime – tolerant root
system that is unique in rhododendrons. As a result
INKARHO® Rhododendron will grow almost anywhere.
License
tags.
Be
sure that your rhododendrons has the large conspicuous
license tag attached. All INKARHO® rhododendrons must
have this license tag to be genuine.
Rhododendrons
in patio pots
Only
choose INKARHO® rhododendrons for patio pots. Tap water
has a high ph normally 7 to 7,5 and even as high as
9 in some areas. Constant watering will in time, raise
the ph of the compost in your patio pot to a level that
will adversely affect a normal rhododendron. INKARHO®
rhododendrons however will flourish.
There
is a wide range of types and colours to choose from
– small yakushimanum varieties that are ideal for small
gardens and patio pots to the hybrids which are ideal
large evergreen shrubs for the back of the border or
as a feature plant.
Planting
and Care
Good
preparation is important; this will encourage your plant
to establish itself quickly. Dig
over the area and incorporate peat or organic compost
and fertilizer at the same time. The INKARHO® root system
is very robust and this will quickly grow through the
planting mix into your soil and continue to flourish
for years.
Once
planted in the garden, we recommend that you apply a
slow release fertilizer, in early spring. This will
encourage strong well balanced healthy growth after
flowering, and at the end of the summer it will help
you to produce the flower buds that will give you another
spectacular flowering display the following year. Water
them in well when you plant and then occasionally during
the first year if conditions become dry.
Patio
pots: If you want to put your INKARHO® rhododendron in
a patio pot we recommend that you use ericaceous compost
or John Innes number three and then apply ericaceous
liquid fertilizer during the growing season.
